CLOUT Nehemiah Assembly on March 27
Last week, Fr, Ron Knott used this image in his homily: “To catch…monkeys for the zoo, people would cut a hole in a tree, just small enough for a monkey to put his hand into. Then they fill the hole with peanuts. When the monkey sticks his hand into the hole and grabs the peanuts, he cannot pull his hand back out. Instead of letting go of the peanuts, they howl and cry till someone comes and hauls them off to the zoo. All they had to do was to let go of their grip on the peanuts. People are a lot like that!”
Do you want to let go of things that don’t work and consider embracing a new way to make changes to work for justice? If so, join us on Monday, March 27, 2023 at 6:30 pm at the Male High School Auditorium for the annual CLOUT assembly.
The St. Leonard coalition for Justice Ministry will gather with more than 1,000 persons from churches and synagogues throughout the city. We are inviting you to join with them and come to this action for justice.
Our new issue this year will focus on Children and Youth and will address the horrendously low reading ability and literacy in our schools.
For a ticket and more information about the issues we will present to the Mayor, interim Chief of Police, and JCPS Superintendent—contact David Dutschke at 502-905-6908.
