Volunteers Needed to Help Feed Those in Need
Home-Cooked Meals for UCHM Clients
“Leonard Lunches” is a new program to provide tasty, home-cooked meals to UCHM clients who are food insecure. We are going to launch this new program on Monday, June 27 with a small test run of the concept to make sure we can produce the high quality meals we want our neighbors to have.
If you have a desire to cook for others, to nurture your soul by feeding others, and to live more fully as a disciple of Jesus who fed 5,000 in this weekend’s Gospel reading, then consider joining us on June 27 from 10am to noon at the St. Leonard kitchen/cafeteria. We need at least three or four volunteers to work with us that morning to prepare homemade applesauce, homemade macaroni and cheese, and chicken tenders that we will package for easy delivery to UCHM.
If you want to donate items for this effort, we can use Granny Smith apples, cinnamon, and brown sugar for the homemade applesauce. You can also donate funds to purchase additional items.
